no pictures but we just had a house baking activity!! we made chewy chocolate chip cookies
spoilers the result wasnt too good but im not gonna complain i dropped out of the activity like halfway because there were too many people with too little to do at once
i dont think baking is a group activity tbh. like im talking about 5+ people activity. at that point you're gonna run out of tasks to give people to do, so a lot of people were just hanging around doing nothing, but i guess that's up to them. idk i just wish we'd split the session into a few groups so each one made their own batch, but who am i to complain
the other thing is hygiene. i cant be sure everyone washed their hands properly (if they did at all, but im gonna tentatively give people the benefit of the doubt here) and even if they did i dont know about the cleanliness of the surfaces either. im really particular about hygiene even outside of stuff like this, so imagine a group activity when you're gonna put the end result in your stomachs .... yea um
i *did* try a small piece though, and im mostly fine. i think. i havent died yet so
is it arrogant of me to complain about how activities like these are organised .. i mean. im sure being critical is a good thing but maybe i should actually suggest changes to activities like these next time. except its scary !! to talk 2 people !!
anyways. this activity made me realise i kind of miss baking. i used to bake at home with my mom & sibling but at some point we just stopped lol. i think i'll try baking again when im free .. i really want to make honeycomb cakes again!! i think it was the first recipe i ever tried out and i always liked the chewy texture of the cake, also especially when we dont put as much sugar so its slightly bitter. so good :9
i could definitely see me taking up baking as a fun little side hobby, but probably only very occassionally because buying ingredients is hard and looking for a recipe is hard and washing dishes is hard. and trying not to tempt myself into eating all those yummy food is Very hard.
anyways. baking is fun (ദ്ദി˙ᗜ˙) just need to find the right people to do it with...... no offense to anyone i was baking with today .. but PLEASE do NOT tap the sieve ON THE BOTTOM. even if u dont give a shit about hygiene i feel like its common sense to avoid getting flour on your fingers??????? come on people
ok end of rant can you tell im holding back on some details on how people were not handling the baking process well. im just petty like that but you also have to understand that there is a limit to how egregious your egg cracking can be
