today is a super special day of the year.. by that i mean today is my birthday :-) !! happy merry birthday to me ✧。٩(ˊᗜˋ )و✧*。

this year im one year older than this date on last year. it'd be weird if i was two years older than last year but at least i dont age once every four years

so.. what's this tamagotchi birthday i'm talking about?? turns out i adopted an tamagotchi and he technically shares a birthday with me now. thats fun

everyone please wave and say hello to ahocchi!! (in my head its any pronouns but i just use he/him because.. idk) yes アホ (aho) means fool/idiot in japanese and yes i named my first tama that. he's a gen 1 tamagotchi because they only had gen 1 and 2 where i got him, and this was the most awesomest shell i could find and i dont regret it.

ahocchi before he hatched...

i like how you have to turn off the lights when they sleep. so cute

i just wanna say how needy he was in the first few minutes of his life then after he aged 1yr he suddenly shut up. the gen1 minigame was horrendous and i couldn't get his happy meter up at all at first, but after a quick internet search i found out some strategies that seemed to work somewhat. either way im honestly very relieved that he's now more independent because i didnt really think about how i would care for him while in class, so his current state will be much more manageable.

ahocchi at 1 years old

ahocchi is currently 1 year and 10oz, which is about 300 grams. according to the internet that's about 50 graphite pencils. wow!

he kinda looks like hector from omori. then i'd name him hectorcchi but i already have a tamanotchi called hector. i digress, besides the minigame thing i'm mostly avoiding looking up any growth charts or whatever for my first run just so i can be shocked when he grows into an "unattractive bad mannered alien" - the manual's words not mine

i also got myself a pistachio brownie!! i love pistachio and i love brownies so i knew i had to get this one! honestly one of the, if not Best brownies i've ever eaten, even if you remove the pistachio. the texture of the brownie was chewy to perfection and i wish i could've had more. soso good im drooling just thinking about it now

suna ur not allowed 2 eat that

before we continue: you may have noticed something also very special.. we're now bonyou.place!!!!!! yay!!

i have been considering getting a custom domain for a bit now and i decided it'd be fitting to register one as a birthday treat (as opposed to waiting for another site anniversary)!! it looks so freaking cool :-0c

i chose bonyou dot place because bonyou means ordinary, so it'll be like calling this site "an ordinary place"! obvs its not all that ordinary but like i said in my site's about page bonyou was first meant to be a break from making overcomplicated site layouts. i'm gonna be honest, if i could i'd go with bonyou.net as in "an ordinary site on the internet", but that's not available, and now that i've actually got bonyou.place i find that i like it a lot more. bonyou.net is nice but it's, uh, both ironically and unironically bonyou (as in ordinary) at the same time. whatever that's just a very verbose way to say i like bonyou.place better.

okay back to your irregularly scheduled program, now i wanna show art i received for my birthday!!!!! i love receiving art and i literally appreciate every single piece i get so i was soooo over the freaking moon when two very cool people sent me these.. please let me introduce u

the first one is by my super cool awesome sibling .. i lost my mind when i got this.. im so grateful .. like Hello im literally at a lost for words is that my most amazing suna rintarou?!?!??!? just admire it.. my mouth is Not watering

the second piece i got is by my also super cool bestie who drew mono!!!!!! im so happy!! for the longest time i didn't have ocs that i felt attached to enough to share with others but now that i do i'm discovering the joy of receiving gorgeous art of them.

thats all!! i enjoyed myself lots today and im super grateful 4 that. before we draw the curtains closed... i wanted to talk abit about the topic of birthdays and age! the idea of "never share your age on the internet" since the my early internet days has stuck with me until now in a way where i dont ever ever mention my exact age online. it's definitely implied in my site but im not comfortable stating it outright what it is, i think mostly because it seems too personal. but i dont think its that big of a deal if people found out. i think.

it's interesting how the idea nowadays is if you don't share your exact age online you'd at least mention whether you're a minor or adult, because some adults don't feel comfortable interacting with minors and vice versa. personally i don't care all that much, as long as it doesn't get overly personal, so i choose not to mention that either. anyhow, most people who take care with interacting this way usually avoid people who don't clearly state their age, so i think it's cool for both sides in most cases like this

also speaking of getting older, you should totally listen to oops cool's very awesome song get older (and perhaps watch the music video while you're at it).

also i'll have everyone know that as i was writing this blog ahocchi fell asleep. ok buhbye
