music recs of the whenever

if u ever want cool music recommendations ig. but these are just stuff im listening to or like in general, maybe sometimes when i discover a cool song i'll also put it here

september special spotlight!!!

GOLDEN GOAL

paledusk

i'd been putting off this month's song recs but paledusk released this single just a few days ago and i'm already addicted to it so here it is in its very own september special!! every day since i keep thinking about this song. paledusk isn't afraid to blend lots of different styles together and it really shows through this single, and it's especially gratifying when you hear the signature paledusk sound come through all of the others.

i'm a big fan of what they've done with the vocals this time, i don't think i've heard anything like it in their previous songs and it's probably one of my favourite parts of golden goal. they've also got backup singers, and towards the end of the song the chanting is sooo good it sends chills down my spine. this release also brings in a new paledusk member, john, on bass!! he's apparently been a supporting member of paledusk before but now officially joined as an artist in the band so that is very cool :o)

oops cool

*DRUMROLL* MEET.. oopscool :-) i really cannot recommend their songs enough, and it's a thousand times more fun if you watch their music videos too. i'd call them a jrap 4-man group, and all of the members wear a sort of mask and sunglasses over their face and this means their music videos are chock full of ridiculously exaggerated actions to convey the story. very good vibes. if u want somewhere to start definitely go with their new album salaryman, the concept is really ..oopscool ;3

YAO

when i saw paledusk was featured in this i just had to click on it and i was not disappointed!! it's so good to yell along to and i feel like this would be such a fun song to listen to at a concert. no other comments you should also watch the music video

fun fact: in the song when they sing "na na na" it's actually a pun on the name of the song! "nana" means seven in japanese.

ok hallo ik it's like almost august but here's july's awesome artist picks for you.. yes all artists this time. i struggled so bad picking a song album and artist combo so this is what ur getting. there's been some new releases from my faves but i've been in sort of a music listening slump if that even is a thing so i haven't gotten around to listening to it yet. obviously its gonna be nice and cool but i wanna at least know what im serving lol. anyways. enjoy

artist 1

between friends

i've been listening to their songs for about three ish years now. their latest album release in 2025 is a little different from what they'd been releasing up to that point but it didn't take long for it to get stuck in my head hard. have a listen if you like a good catchy beat for when life's fucking awesome and everything's going your way

artist 2

the cabs

perhaps the most iconic in the japanese math rock scene, but i'm not enough of a music nerd to know that for sure. the cabs are the ones who got me into j math rock and now it's one of my favourite genres ever :3 their lyrics, once you understand it, are just too beautiful to overlook. i definitely recommend looking up the translations if you do give them a try

artist 3

ishikinonaikranke

i discovered them pretty recently and immediately fell in love with the almost ethereal feeling of their sounds. gorgeous album/ep covers as well ^o^ not much to say just go listen if you're feeling adventurous .. wink
